This original oil painting was started from a live setting (plein air) and completed in the studio. This Leesville  Courthouse is a magnificent structure and as in most small towns is the center of town. The day I started this painting, it was an unusually clear sky for the month of February, a cold front had passed and the weather was remarkably warm for that time of year. It had been raining for weeks and being cooped up in the studio, I decided to pack up and head into town to paint something. The Courthouse was picturesque. This painting is an oil on Artefex panel and framed in a gorgeous brown with golden highlights. The painting measures 11” x 14”, comes with a certificate of authenticity and is ready to hang in your office or home.
